Online photo albums
Online photo albums are a collection of digital photos that are safely stored on the Kodak Gallery server. When you upload your digital photo files to the Gallery or send us film for processing, we store your pictures on our servers. Your personal account password gives you the option to keep your albums private or create special albums to share with friends and family.
The Gallery's easy-to-use album tools let you:
- share your photos online with friends and family.
- order film-quality Kodak prints, Greeting cards, mugs and much more.
- edit & add borders to your photos (remove red-eye, crop photos, add borders and more).
- Choose the best photos from any of your albums, tag them as favourites and view them in your My Favourites album.
- Copy photos into multiple albums.
View
Viewing albums you have created
To view your albums:
- Click "View & Edit Photos".
- Click "All My Albums" to view all of your albums.
- Click the year that the album was created to narrow your album search.
- Click the dropdown menu to sort your albums by date or title.
- Click the album cover or title to see all of the photos in the album.
- Click the individual photo to enlarge the photo view.
- Click the slideshow icon
to view the slideshow automatically. - Click the Previous
and Next Page
arrows to control the slideshow yourself.
Viewing shared albums
To view albums shared by friends:
- Click "View Photos" in the email sent from your friend.
- You may have two options for

If your friend requires that you sign in to your Gallery account, enter your Gallery account email address and password. Click "View Photos".
Note: If you are not already a Gallery member, begin by registering for a Gallery account. - If your Gallery sign in is not required, click "View Photos without Signing in".

If your friend requires that you sign in to your Gallery account, enter your Gallery account email address and password. Click "View Photos".
- Each time you sign in to view your friend's albums, their photos are saved to your account under "All Friends' Albums".
- A slideshow of your friend's photos will display. Click "Play" to view the slideshow automatically or use the forward and back arrows to control the slideshow yourself.
- When you have finished viewing your friend's albums, you can:
- See the slideshow again.
- Share this slideshow with a friend.
- View these pictures in your Gallery.
- Order prints, cards & invitations, mugs, photo books and much more.
Viewing your friends' albums within your account
After you sign in to view your friend's shared albums, their photos will be saved to your account.
To view your friend's albums within your account:
- Click "View & Edit Photos".
- Click "All Friends' Albums" to view all of your friends' albums.
- To select a specific friend's albums, select their name from the "Select a friend" dropdown menu.
- Click the dropdown menu to search for albums by date or title.
- Click the album cover or title to see all of the photos in the album.
- Click the individual photo to enlarge the photo view.
- Click the slideshow icon
to view the slideshow automatically. - Click the Previous
and Next Page
arrows to control the slideshow yourself.
Viewing photos in slideshow
Viewing photos in slideshow lets you see all the photos in an album or group of albums consecutively.
To view a slideshow:

You will first need to choose the viewing format.
- Broadband (for larger photos, transitions between photos and ability to set time between photos in autoplay mode)
- Dial-up (for smaller photos, no transitions)
Each slide displays the name of the slideshow, the name of the current album and the name of the photo. You can also read comments about the photo that other viewers have made and add your own comments.
If you are viewing a multi-album slideshow, you can see a summary of every album in the slideshow. Click the number of albums link that appears next to the slideshow name at the top of the screen.
To launch a slideshow of one of your albums, follow these steps:
- Click "View & Edit Photos".
- Click the album you want to view.
- Click the slideshow icon
to view the slideshow automatically. - Click the Previous
and Next Page
arrows to control the slideshow yourself. - To add comments to a photo, enter your comment in the "Add a Comment" text field.
- To order a print of a photo within a slideshow, click the dropdown list of print sizes and prices. Select the print size you would like to order and then click "Add to Basket".
- To end the slideshow, click "Return to Album".
Viewing videos in slideshow
You can also view videos in slideshow. As you cycle through the photos, the slideshow will pause when it reaches a video so that the video can load. A QuickTime icon
will appear and will stay on screen until the video finishes loading. This can take a few minutes depending on your Internet connection speed.
If the video does not play, verify that you have installed QuickTime 6.4 or higher. If you do not have QuickTime installed, please follow these steps:
- Go to the QuickTime download page.
- Follow Apple's instructions for installing QuickTime. You may be prompted to restart your browser when the installation is complete.
Viewing videos in an album
To view a video in an album, you must have QuickTime 6.4 or higher installed on your computer. To install QuickTime:
- Go to http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/
- Follow Apple's instructions for installing QuickTime. You may be prompted to restart your browser when the installation is complete.
To view your video:
- Go to the Gallery web site (http://www.kodakgallery.co.uk/) and sign in to your account.
- Click "View & Edit Photos".
- Go to the album that contains the video.
- Click the video thumbnail in the album.

Viewing another album
If you have finished viewing an album and want to open another album, click "Return to Album " (from the slideshow) > "My Albums" and then select another album.
Searching your albums
The Gallery search tool can be used to find albums and photos that match keywords within your album photo titles, captions and comments. Note: This search tool can only be used for photos within your albums, not for photos within your My Friends' Albums.
To search your own albums:
- Click "View & Edit Photos".
- Enter a search criterion within the "Search My Albums" text box and click "Search".
- Once your search results display, you can:
- Create a slideshow from the search results by clicking "exact picture matches" > "Slideshow".
- Create a new album with these search results by clicking "exact picture matches" > "New album".
- Buy prints from each album by clicking "exact picture matches" > "New Album" > "Buy Prints".
- Create a collage with these search results by clicking "exact picture matches" > "Collage".
- Share all the search results by clicking "Share these results".
- Sort the results by date.
Using Advanced Search
Advanced Search helps you find photos in both your albums and your friends' albums.
Remember: Advanced Search is not a site search tool; you can only use it to search for albums that belong to you and your friends.
To use Advanced Search:
- Click "View & Edit Photos".
- Enter a search criterion within the "Search My Albums" text box and click "Search".
- Click "Advanced Search".
- Choose to search by keyword, date range, your friends' and groups' albums or a combination of these.
- When entering a search term, use quote marks to search for exact phrases, such as "beach party".
- "Include these albums" lets you select your own albums, your friends' albums or albums belonging to members of groups you have created.
- Check the box next to "My Albums" to search within your own albums.
- Click the plus sign (+) next to "Include Friends" or "Include Groups" to search the photo from individual friends or groups. Learn more about groups.
Edit
Adding photos to an album
When viewing an album, you can add additional photos to it from other albums.
- Click "View & Edit Photos".
- Click the album you want to add photos to.
- Click "Add More Photos".
- To add photos from another album:
- Use the drop-down menu to select the album that contains the photos you want to add.
- Check the box next to "Select all" or check the "Copy Picture" boxes under each photo you want to add.
- Click "Copy Photos".
- To upload new photos into this album:
- Click "upload additional photos" and follow the steps for uploading photos from your computer.
Tip: When copying photos to an album, you are not moving or deleting them from their original albums. The photos remain in their original album unless you delete them from that album.
Changing an album title, date or description
To edit the title, date or description of an album you have created:
- Click "View & Edit Photos".
- Click the album you want to edit.
- Click "Edit Details & Rearrange".
- Enter a new title in the "Album Title" field.
- Enter a new description in the "Description" field.
- Use the dropdown menus to change the month, day and/or year.
- Click "Save" to save these changes.
Editing or adding titles to multiple photos
To edit or add titles to multiple photos:
- Click "View & Edit Photos".
- Click the album you want to change.
- Click "Add Photo Titles" in the left menu.
- Enter or change the title of each photo in the "Title" field.
- Click "Save Changes".
Editing or adding a title to a single photo
From the album view:
- Click "View & Edit Photos".
- Click the album you want to change.
- Click "Options" under the photo you want to edit > "Add Photo Title".
- Enter a new title or edit the existing title.
- Click "Save" to save your changes and close the pop-up window.
From the photo view:
- Click "View & Edit Photos".
- Click the album you want to change.
- Click the photo you want to change.
- To add a new title to an untitled photo:
- Click "Add photo title".
- Enter the new title and click "Save".
- To edit an existing title:
- Click "edit" next to the photo title.
- Enter the new title and click "Save".
Adding photo comments
Album owners and guests can add comments to photos in shared albums.
- Click "My Photos" > "All Friend's Albums".
- Click the album that contains the photos you would like to add comments to.
- Click the photo you want to add a comment to.
- Enter your comment in the "Comment" field.
- Click the radio buttons next to either "Share your comment with everyone" or "Share your comment only with the album's owner".
- Click "Save" to add your comment, your name and the comment date.
Rearranging photos in an album
To rearrange photos in an album:
- Click "View & Edit Photos".
- Click the album that contains the photos you would like to rearrange.
- Click "Edit Details & Rearrange".
- Click and drag individual photos to change the display order.
- Click "Save" to save the changes.
Tip: You can only rearrange photos within albums you have created. You cannot make changes to albums that your friends have shared with you.
Deleting photos
Deleting a single photo from the album view:
- Click "View & Edit Photos".
- Click the album that contains the photos you want to delete.
- Click "Options" under the photo you want to delete > "Delete Photo".
- Click "Yes" to confirm the deletion.
Deleting a single photo from the photo view:
- Click "View & Edit Photos".
- Click the album that contains the photos you want to delete.
- Click the photo you want to delete.
- Click "Options" > "View Larger".
- Click "Delete this photo".
- Click "Yes" to confirm the deletion.
Deleting multiple photos
- Click "View & Edit Photos".
- Click the album that contains the photos you want to delete.
- Click "Delete Photos".
- Check the boxes under the photos you want to delete.
- Click the "Delete" button.
Tip: You can only delete photos from albums you create. You cannot delete photos that your friends have shared with you.
Deleting albums
You can remove an entire album from your collection. If you have added photos from the deleted album to other albums, you will still find the photos in the other albums.
To delete an album:
- Click "View & Edit Photos".
- Click the album you want to delete.
- Click "Delete Album".
- Click "Yes" to confirm the deletion.
Favourites
You can tag your favourite pictures as Favourites and view all your Favourites in one "My Favourites" album. Favourites are tagged with a heart icon
and can be synched with Kodak EasyShare software.
Tagging and removing Favourites
To tag a photo as a Favourite:
- Click "View & Edit Photos".
- Click the album that contains the photos that you would like to tag as Favourite.
- Click "Options" under the photo you would like to tag as Favourite > "Tag as Favourite".
To remove the Favourite tag from a photo:
- Click "View & Edit Photos".
- Click the album that contains the photos that you would like to tag as Favourite.
- Click "Options" under the photo you would like to tag as Favourite > "Remove from Favourites".
Editing photos
Click "Options" under the photo you would like to tag as Favourite > "Remove from Favourites".
- Click "View & Edit Photos".
- To use the Edit & Borders tool to edit photos in albums you have created:
- Click "Options" > "Edit & Borders".

With the Edit & Borders tool, you can apply the following edits to your photos:

crop: Trim photos to eliminate unwanted portions.

red-eye: Remove the glowing red eyes often caused by flash photography.
-

rotate left: Rotate your photo 90 degrees anticlockwise.
-

rotate right: Rotate your photo 90 degrees clockwise.
-

instant fix: Automatically adjusts lighting conditions if your photo is too light or too dark.

Flip: Flip your photo to create a mirror image.
Click "save new" to save a new copy of the photo with the applied edits and to keep the original photo without the edits.
Click "save & replace" to replace the original photo with the applied edits.
Click "undo" to cancel the edits.
Click "revert to original" to cancel the edits and view the original photo without the edits.
Note: These edits can only be applied to your photos, not to photos that your friends have shared with you.
Cropping photos
To crop a photo:
- Click "View & Edit Photos".
- Click the album that contains the photos you would like to crop.
- Click "Options" > "Edit & Borders".
- Click "edit" > crop icon
. - Choose a crop shape from the list provided.
- Choose the orientation (landscape or portrait).
- Drag any of the corners of the orange cropping box to resize the photo. Drag the cropped image as desired.
- Click "Apply" to preview the cropped image.
- Click "save new" to save a new copy of the photo with the applied edits and to keep the original photo without the edits.
- Click "save & replace" to replace the original photo with the applied edits.
- Click "undo" to cancel the edits.
- Click "revert to original" to cancel the edits and view the original photo without the edits.
Applying red-eye removal
- Click "View & Edit Photos".
- Click the album that contains the photos you would like to remove red-eye from.
- Click "Options" > "Edit & Borders".
- Click "edit" > red-eye icon
. - Drag your cursor around the photo to locate the red-eye.
- Click the affected area to remove the redness. You may have to click more than once.
- Click "Apply" to preview the changes.
- Click "save new" to save a new copy of the photo with the applied edits and to keep the original photo without the edits.
- Click "save & replace" to replace the original photo with the applied edits.
- Click "undo" to cancel the edits.
- Click "revert to original" to cancel the edits and view the original photo without the edits.
Applying effects to a photo
To apply colourful tints and artistic effects to your photos using the Edit & Borders tool:
- Click "View & Edit Photos".
- Click the album that contains the photos you would like to edit.
- Click "Options" > "Edit & Borders".
- Click "effects".
- Click "more effects" to select tints or artistic effects.
- Click an icon
to apply the effect to your photo. - Click "save new" to save a new copy of the photo with the applied edits and to keep the original photo without the edits.
- Click "save & replace" to replace the original photo with the applied edits.
- Click "undo" to cancel the edits.
- Click "revert to original" to cancel the edits and view the original photo without the edits.
- Click "no tint effect" to cancel the effect changes.
Adding borders to a photo
To apply a wide variety of borders to your photos:
- Click "View & Edit Photos".
- Click the album that contains the photos you would like to add borders to.
- Click "Options" > "Edit & Borders".
- Click "borders".
- Click "more borders" to choose a borders category.
- Click "next"
to view additional borders within a category. - Click the border style you would like to apply to your photo.
- Select landscape or portrait orientation.
- Select the border size from the dropdown menu. (This corresponds with the print size. It is important to choose the correct border size for the intended print size.)
- Click "zoom in", "zoom out" and the move arrows to change the position of your photo within the border.
- Click "save new" to save a new copy of the photo with the applied edits and to keep the original photo without the edits.
- Click "save & replace" to replace the original photo with the applied edits.
- Click "undo" to cancel the edits.
- Click "revert to original" to cancel the edits and view the original photo without the edits.
- Click "no border" to cancel the border edits.
Fone Print borders
Fone prints is a special borders category, found within the Edit & Borders tool, to help keep your low-resolution images looking good when printed as 6 x 4" prints. Fone print borders are ideal for camera phone photos and other low-resolution images.
To use Fone Print borders:
- Follow the steps for applying a border listed above.
- Select "Fone Prints" from the drop down list next to "More Borders".
